A Man's Worth

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

So long as we are loved by others I should say that we are almost indispensable; and no man is useless while he has a friend.

Robert Louis Stevenson

It always has been your presence, along with other things, that pulled me through the days which just can’t seem to get any worse.

Under the Sun

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Rain is the merging of cool air with warm
under general conditions of humidity. Try to remember
it has nothing to do with love
or grief. This is the consolation of philosophy:
it’s out of our hands. The business of bars
and stores, our separate beds, the garbaged
offices of alleyways, is aging. It signs
in the blood like salt, slows us, and is why
our hearts are heaviest on the moment
of waking: the weight we ferry, the fright,
the long vowel opening at the centre
of a consonant world that draws the hurt up,
an empty bowl, while history’s rebar is replaced
and a species coughs its lung out
in another room. Private lives of insects
and the single notes that move them, hard-won
courage of raccoon and crow who eat our garbage
and hate us, are foreclosed. We are lonely. We
are here. Inside, a vestigial swimmer bears
memory like a phantom pain of when the earth
was new and we were promise in the sex
of its making, its heat and pools. Cell’s random
liquid birth. In the molecular ache of land
as it cooled, when, before tears, before
property, it rained for more than a million years.

心跳

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

你的眼神充满美丽带走我的心跳
你的温柔如此靠近带走我的心跳
逆转时光到一开始 能不能给一秒
等着哪一天你也想起
那悬在记忆中的美好

The Supreme Happiness

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved; loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves.

Victor Hugo

Alternative

Monday, March 9th, 2009

It has been demonstrated, that things cannot be otherwise: for as everything has been made for a purpose, everything is necessarily made for the best purpose.

Pangloss, Candide by Voltaire

You are, then, no doubt put into my life for the best purpose. In Charlotte’s words, “there is no alternative.”

To be stupid

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

It is one of the blessings of old friends that you can afford to be stupid with them.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

文学造指(诣);毒荼(荼毒);narcism (narcissism)……
Well, it’s not only that. I can, above all, truly be myself with you ♥

Truth

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

A friend can tell you things you don’t want to tell yourself.

Frances Ward Weller

Indeed, thank you for keeping me on the right track all these years. If I didn’t listen to you then, I always realized in the end that you were right all along.

Only Yesterday

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

After long enough of being alone
Everyone must face their share of loneliness
In my own time nobody knew
The pain I was going through
Waiting was all my heart could do.

Hope was all I  had until you came
Maybe you can see how much you mean to me
You were the dawn breaking the night
The promise of morning light
Filling the world surrounding me.
